Friends Journal Wins 5 Awards at "Best of the Christian Press"

By
We're excited to announce that Friends Journal was honored with five awards at the Associated Church Press's annual "Best of the Christian Press" competition. Among these are honorable mentions in the Editorial Courage and Magazine Feature categories. FJ took home an Award of Excellence for our estimable letters to the editor section, about which the judge had this to say: "Obviously this is a forum where readers and writers expect a lively exchange of views on important subjects. So many publications have dumbed down and/or digested text. Friends Journal is holding the line."

Our November Books section, which featured a review of Fit for Freedom, Not for Friendship and an interview with the authors, won an honorable mention in the Media Review category.

We received an honorable mention in the Best Denominational Magazine category, for which the judge examined multiple issues and in which the Journal competes with the official magazines of much larger denominations. The judge wrote: "This publication does not shrink from challenging and difficult issues. The design is straightforward and classic but is also aesthetically pleasing, clear, and easy to follow for the reader." Help us celebrate by becoming a subscriber or donor today!
