Peace and Quiet

Gentle God of Peace and Quiet:

Still the restlessness of our lives.

Set us free from every form of callousness;

        strengthen our faltering faith;

        visit our lives with courage; and

                birth new hope within and among us.

During this hour, stand us up on our feet;

        awaken our sleeping sensitivities;

        call our hearts and minds to attention;

        do some private transactions

                with our souls until we are

                        quieted, empowered, and

                        made human again.
