Quaker Teachers Aren’t Just at Friends Schools

A former Friends School teacher decides to let his life speak in a public school.

Mike Mangiaracina is an attender of Adelphi (Md.) Meeting. He taught for ten years in two Friends schools before being called to teach in Washington, D.C.’s public schools, where he has been teaching elementary school math and science for nine years.

Jeremy Evans is a junior at Haverford College. A 2014 alum of Westtown School, he attends Westtown Meeting when home in nearby Glen Mills, Pa. He considers himself a student, f/Friend, athlete, musician, listener, thinker, debater, nature lover, traveler, and entrepreneur, striving imperfectly to alleviate suffering, bring joy, and create sustained peace.
