David Zarembka started the African Great Lakes Initiative of the Friends Peace Teams (USA) in 1998 to partner with African peacemakers. He lives in western Kenya with his wife, Gladys Kamonya. They are members of both Lumakanda Friends Church in Kenya and Bethesda (Md.) Meeting in the United States.
