Henning Mielke, a freelance journalist, lives in Berlin. While working on various radio features about Christian resistance to the Nazis, he found a trail that led to the Quakers. In 2004 he produced a 30-minute feature for North German Radio. He occasionally attends the meeting for worship in Berlin. He is the founder of NACOA Deutschland, a charity that advocates for children of addicted families.
