Eleanor naci\u00f3 el 22 de mayo de 1933, hija de Stanley y Marjorie Stratton en Flushing, Ohio. Eleanor fue de gran ayuda para su padre en la granja familiar.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eleanor fue cu\u00e1quera de toda la vida. Durante sus primeros a\u00f1os, los Meetings de adoraci\u00f3n se celebraban en la granja de sus bisabuelos en Flushing. Asisti\u00f3 al Meeting de Middleton en Ohio cuando era adolescente. En 1951, se gradu\u00f3 en la Olney Friends School en Barnesville, Ohio. Eleanor trabaj\u00f3 en la cocina de la escuela preparando comidas durante el a\u00f1o siguiente a su graduaci\u00f3n.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eleanor se cas\u00f3 con John Mitchell Wetherill el 8 de septiembre de 1956. Ella y John tuvieron dos hijos y compartieron 57 maravillosos a\u00f1os juntos antes de su fallecimiento en 2014. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eleanor fue miembro del Meeting de Chester (Pa.) de 1960 a 1987. Fue miembro del Meeting de Winter Park en Orlando de 1987 a 1994, y luego del Deland (Fla.) Fellowship Group hasta que se mud\u00f3 a un apartamento en la comunidad de jubilados de John Knox Village.
