Wood Jr.<\/span><br \/>\n<\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">., de 101 a\u00f1os, falleci\u00f3 el 1 de abril de 2016 en su casa de Pennswood Village en Newtown, Pensilvania, rodeado de su familia. John naci\u00f3 el 25 de octubre de 1914 en Langhorne Manor, Pensilvania, hijo de Elizabeth W. Cadwallader y John H. Wood, Sr. Se gradu\u00f3 de George School en 1933 y de Swarthmore College en 1937, y obtuvo un t\u00edtulo en derecho de la Universidad de Pensilvania en 1940. En 1941, sirvi\u00f3 con el American Friends Service Committee en el sur de Francia, ayudando a refugiados a escapar del r\u00e9gimen franquista en Espa\u00f1a. En 1942, se cas\u00f3 con Jean Robertson y criaron a cuatro hijos.
