Martin Kelley has been Friends Journal’s senior editor since 2011. Growing up as a history nerd and peace activist in Philadelphia, he ran into a lot about Friends and began attending Quaker meetings during college. He worked in Quaker-adjacent publishing through his twenties, then started working for both Friends General Conference and Friends Journal. In the late 1990s he started blogging as the Quaker Ranter (still active as a weekly newsletter) and founded the blogging community QuakerQuaker. He maintains a personal site at Martinkelley.com. He lives in a small town in South Jersey with his family and is a member of Cropwell Meeting in Marlton, N.J.,
