October Sunset

October_Sunset

The full moon rises, translucent mother-of-pearl,

Suspended in a sky of sunset washed clouds.

Swallows weave a distant dance of joy

High above a hillside radiant in fall’s golden glory.

I breathe in the mystery, the silent pulsing of the universe,

Held in this moment, this thin place,

Where light pours into the world, into my heart,

Overflowing.
