This is the location of unmarked graves of Revolutionary soldiers wounded at the Battle of Germantown, who are buried at Gwynedd Friends' meeting-house.  Note that the meeting house (built 1712) that was used as a hospital was torn down when the new, much larger, meeting-house was constructed in 1823. There was also an ambush of American troops by the British at the meeting-house with several killed, and that some of these men are buried at the meeting-house cannot be ruled out.
