Martin Kelley

Senior Editor

Martin Kelley has been Friends Journal’s senior editor since 2011. Growing up as a history nerd in Philadelphia, he heard a lot about Friends and began attending Abington (Pa.) Meeting during college. He worked in Quaker-adjacent activist publishing through his twenties and then joined the staff of Friends General Conference. During that time he started writing an early Quaker blog before founding QuakerQuaker, an online Quaker community. Martin still blogs as the Quaker Ranter and maintains a personal site at Martinkelley.com, where you can find a list of social media profiles and upcoming workshops. He lives in a small town in the South Jersey pine barrens with his wife, four kids, two dogs, and four cats, and is a member of Cropwell Meeting in Marlton, N.J.
