Friends Journal in Color

Color is on the wayBeginning with the August 2013 issue, Friends Journal will be going color. The Journal has been printed in black and white since its debut in July 1955. This long-awaited change will help us do the kind of visual storytelling that our audience deserves. While our black-and-white format was distinctive, new readers found it drab and forbidding. In making this momentous switch, our goal is to make the magazine more compelling and inviting to new readers and dedicated subscribers alike. The change will increase our overall operating costs by about 1.5%; subscription prices remain affordable, beginning at just $25 for a one-year subscription. We hope you’ll join us as we communicate Quaker experience—in color—in order to connect and deepen spiritual lives.
