These poems come from a period of solitariness that allowed Boardman to “go a little deeper.” In solitude, and with nearly a half-century of living from which to view the life around her, Boardman allowed her attention to explore texture, linger on sensation, and connect experience with language. The resulting poems are collected here, “offer[ed] to those of similar age now.”
