Alfred Mbai

Corresponding Editor for Africa

Alfred Mbai joined the Friends Publishing team in October 2025 as a corresponding editor for Africa. Alfred is passionate about reimagining and retelling the African religious narrative from an African perspective. He holds an MA in communications from St. Paul’s University in Nairobi and a certificate of advanced ecumenism from the Bossey Ecumenical Institute in Switzerland. He has also studied French in Geneva. He is a champion for gender equity and rights and uses the written word as an advocacy tool. Alfred is a member of Friends Church Limuru in Kenya. In his free time, he enjoys reading about African religion, decolonial theology, and podcasting.
