When They Ask You to Pray

When they ask you to pray
they will, in most cases,
bow their heads
and close their eyes
and wait.

And they will expect you
to address God on their behalf
with the assumption
that you and the Almighty
have a relationship that is
more intimate than their own.

It’s probably best if,
at that point, you do not
attempt to disabuse them
of that assumption.
