Trilogy

I was a girly boy—
A real live boyish girl.
They benched me as a fullback,
And made me lead the cheers.
My face was so androgynous
That no one called me Sue,
My body so anomalous
My nickname was Who’s-who.
They say just be yourself, just be—
So to myself I’m true.
My life has been a trilogy—
A boy, a girl, and me!
