To have lived some of my lifetime
consonant with great souls:
Desmond Tutu, the Dalai Lama,
Dorothy Day, Elie Wiesel,
Maya Angelou, Pope Francis
and to walk in the garden
to admire that stand of bee balm,
to watch this chickadee
swoop down to the feeder,
snatch a morsel and wing away,
to hear the night-time rain
pelt its staccato rhythm on the window.
Those are great blessings. My lifetime favorite blessing (and my personal definition of what a blessing is) is a butterfly landing on my shoulder. Thank you!
That’s a blessing I have yet to experience. But maybe one day . . . ?
