At one time speculatively placed as a son of John Williams of Montgomery, but from the wills of John and Catherine Williams, this does not seem to be the case.

Montgomery township was originally purchased from William Penn by Thomas Fairman (a land speculator, probably, who lived in Philadelphia). A Thomas Williams, perhaps this one who later lives in Montgomery, is a witness to his will:

THOMAS FAIRMAN. Philadelphia. July 27, 1711. December 22, 1714. D. 17.
Sons Thomas (now in the army of the Duke of Marlborow) and Benjamin.
Daughters Ruth wife of Nicholas Heglin, Abigail wife of Jeremy Hopton.
Executrix: Wife Elizabeth.
Advisor: David Powel of Philadelphia; John Smart; Thomas Millard; Peter Virbin; Mattotsen; William Palmer.
Witnesses: John Stary, Thomas Williams, William Cotes and Neailes Loykens.

This is likely a different Thomas William, as in 1728 Thomas signs with a mark the will of Evan Evans of Gwynedd.

Gwynedd MM, women's minutes
"Att our monthly meeting held att Gwynedd the 30th of the 6th mo 1720
Thomas William & Jane Morris Declared their intention of marriage the first time Cathrine William & Jane Jones are appointed to inspect into her Clearness and Conversation and bring report thereof next meeting." The follow-up second declaration was made the next month. Cathrine William (nee Griffith) is the wife of John William and Jane Jones (Cathrine's niece) is the wife of John Jones, carpenter, and both of these women live in Montgomery township.

First marriage is in the Radnor MM (then Haverford) records: Thomas Williams, Montgomery m. Catharine Thomas, Merion at Gwynedd mh, 6th mo (August) 10, 1714

List of those signing the marriage certificate of his second marriage to Jane Morris:

1734 Montgomery township tax list:
