QuakerSpeak, January 2026

What does the Quaker practice of listening for Spirit look like in our day-to-day lives? Can recognizing that God may speak “afresh and anew” through any of us change our understanding of community? Our last video of Season 12 featured several Friends discussing their understanding of continuing revelation.

“To me, continuing revelation is the idea that the Holy Spirit is not done with us,” says Kat Griffith. Renzo Carranza agrees there is an ongoing aspect to his Quaker faith. When he reads the Bible and the words of Jesus Christ, he believes “that God is constantly revealing to [his] life. . . . That is not just a monologue in which I’m talking and I’m not receiving anything. God is constantly talking to me.”
